Live-In Carer

Location: Northamptonshire & Surrounding Areas
Job Type: Live-In (2–4 week rotations or flexible arrangements)
Salary: up to £840 per week
Driving: Preferred but not essential

About the Role

Totus Care UK is seeking dedicated, compassionate and reliable Live-In Carers to support adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, dementia, or complex needs within their own homes.

As a Live-In Carer, you will reside in the client’s home and provide round-the-clock support, promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is caring, patient, and committed to making a meaningful difference in someone’s everyday life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with the individual’s support plan
• Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting and hygiene)
• Support with medication administration and health monitoring
• Prepare meals and support with nutritional needs
• Carry out household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and organising routines
• Offer companionship, emotional support and positive engagement
• Support individuals to access activities, community outings or appointments
• Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain accurate care records
• Communicate effectively with families, professionals and the care team

Requirements

• Previous experience in care or live-in support is advantageous, but not essential
• A warm, caring and patient approach
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work in a live-in setting for agreed shift patterns
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and respect client privacy
• Right to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship at the moment)
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check, induction and training
• Driving licence essential

Shift Pattern / Working Arrangement

• Flexible live-in rotas (commonly 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
• Alternative rotas available depending on the client’s needs
• Paid breaks and rest periods in line with live-in carer regulations
